Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) may have to lower their predictions for second-quarter growth, due to a weaker-than-expected PC market and a decrease in orders from US wireless communications equipment makers, sources said yesterday.
