Transmeta's stature wavers
Japanese recalls of notebooks using Transmeta Corp.'s Crusoe chip are not, according to some analysts, an indication of any real problem with the company's technology. The timing, however, is very bad. Though a senior VP says it is "unlikely" that chips from a bad production batch made their way into other computers, his company's stock value is suffering.
