Transmeta to unveil Mobile Linux

Transmeta Corp. is nearly ready to release a mobile version of the Linux operating system, in the works since the introduction of the Crusoe microprocessor. The pared down Mobile Linux OS, aimed at Internet appliances and other devices, will be released under the General Public License as part of the open-source movement. Recent enhancements improve the Crusoe chip's ability to use software code emulation in its processing. Linus Torvalds, the creator and guardian of Linux, is an employee of Transmeta.
