Transmeta Goes Head to Head with Intel
Scrappy Transmeta really wants a piece of Intel's notebook processor market. According to an article today in The Standard , the company has plans to release a 1GHz version of its Crusoe processor in Q3 of this year. That's right around the time that Intel's Tualatin should hit the streets. Transmeta should officially announce the chip and let the world know more details about it at PC Expo later this month. Right now, Transmeta's chips are mostly used in laptops for the Japanese market, but a good showing in New York at the Expo may just help them get a leg up in the States.
