Logitech Brings Back Old School With Trackball
Inspired from an age when our pointing devices had balls.

While the mouse as a pointing device has both survived and evolved, the trackball is nearly extinct, except on select smartphones.
Trackballs are wonderful solutions for those with limited desk space, so it's a shame that there aren't more of them. Logitech, however, is revitalizing one of its classic trackball designs in the soon-to-ship Wireless Trackball M570.
Something stationary like a trackball doesn't demand to be wireless, but Logitech has the nano receiver technology so it's seen fit to pair that with the M570. From a single AA battery, the M570 will last an estimated 18 months before another cell is required.
The Wireless Trackball M570 will hit stores later this month with an MSRP of $59.99.

Ergonomically great and space saving, but hell to use and even more hell to game with. Niche product, but still nice.
Great new update, but I can't see the logic in the wirelessness of this product.
There's a very good reason why no-one makes these anymore, they're crap.
Crap untill your suffering from MS.
For working, trackballs are excellent, I used one for many years. More comfortable to use over long periods than a mouse. Sadly useless for gaming.
I don't find trackballs much use for FPS gaming (although I'm told that expert TF2 Heavy players use them for better fast-turning), but they are outstanding for RTS, Puzzle, sim, and RPG/Adventure/3rd person games. Basically anything other than FPS.
Its ugly,..and looks quite uncomfy from a gamer's perspective
they should make tracksballs much more sensitive, you know, just tiny movements with your thumb to move the mouse anywhere you like, then i'd use it for gaming.
