Toysrus.com falls short on Christmas deliveries

An unspecified number of shoppers who bought gifts from the Toys "R" Us Web site will not receive their purchases in time for Christmas - even though they ordered before the retailer's Dec. 10 deadline.

The company said it underestimated the crush of online holiday orders.

While declining to specify how many customers are affected, the company said it's a "small" percentage of holiday orders received at Toysrus.com.

Those who don't receive their orders on time will be offered the option of canceling or receiving a $100 gift certificate.
