Toshiba introduces "ultra-low cost" PC
Toshiba America Information Systems' $549 V3100 is designed to establish a new low-end for the build-to-order desktop PC market.
The system's component options range from 366MHz to 500MHz Celeron processors, 64MB or 128MB of memory, 4GB to 13GB hard drives, a 40x CD-ROM drive, modem and network interface cards from 3Com/U.S. Robotics, and a choice of Windows 95, 98 or NT.
Thw V3100 is available now to Internet resellers, mail order and distribution and traditional reseller partners.
