Toshiba preps triple-layer HD DVD
During the recently concluded CES show, in addition to announcing that the HD DVD group has added four additional hardware vendors including Onkyo, Bandai, Meridian and Taiwan-based Lite-On IT, Toshiba indicated that the company is developing triple-layer HD DVD discs with a storage capacity reaching 51 GB. Toshiba plans to start volume production of the disc in the fourth quarter of this year.
