Toshiba and IBM Japan to Co-Develop Software
It has been reported in Japan's daily Nihon Keizai Shimbun that Toshiba Corporation and IBM Japan, a unit of IBM Corporation, have announced that they will partner in developing automatic "glitch detecting" software in computer systems. The proposed software is proposed to automate the operation and maintenance of computer servers by adjusting and controlling the quantity of data that enters the servers. Additionally, if one server overloads the software will automatically transfer the operations to a non-overloaded server and begin repairing any damage to the server that has shut down. The companies reportedly will have the software on the market by June 2003.
