Torvalds, Allen to unveil secret chip startup
Linus Torvalds, the charismatic creator of the Linux operating system, has indicated that his highly secretive startup venture may come out of the closet at Comdex in November.
Microsoft's co-founder Paul Allen is also known to be involved with the startup, called Transmeta.
The company generally is believed to be focused on developing either a revolutionary high-speed computer chip, or software capable of improving the way chips work, or both.
