Now that E3 is over, and the ringing in our ears is starting to subside, we've got a clear idea of what to expect from the rest of the year. Here are the highlights of what you can look forward to see at a store near you before the end of 2005.

10. Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories

Sony's PSP had an impressive launch, considering it was released at a high price point and without a holiday shopping season in sight. But its heady debut has been followed by a disappointing trickle of middling titles. The next big hurrah for the PSP will be the arrival of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. This series has really helped Sony move hardware, so this may very well be a sort of second launch for the PSP.

At any rate, it'll be a real test of what the powerful little handheld system can do. Rockstar is trying to squeeze into your hands the basics of Grand Theft Auto III, the game that introduced their trademark free-roaming gameplay and cityscapes. It's not clear how well - or even if - the system will truly be able to stream enough data to let you run from one side of a city to the other without hitting a loading screen, so that's going to be the biggest technological hurdle. Then there's the question of how well the very different activities of walking, shooting, and driving will be adapted to the PSP's tiny analog controller. No screenshots have been released for online publication yet, although you can find some in this month's Official Playstation Magazine.
