The Carver
The Carver
Traditionally, when one thinks of regular road travel they think either by car or on a motorbike. Each mode of transport has its own advantages and the choice is down to personal preference, but cars largely dominate the roads across the world.
Now a brand new concept has been conceived in Holland, a radical new idea to combine the car and the motorbike - and unify the positive characteristics of both. Known as the Carver, this piece of Dutch engineering seeks to transform the way we perceive road travel, and offers a offers us a whole new way to get from A to B. The Carver is a three-wheeled design, with two car wheels at the back and one motorbike wheel at the front.
This Dutch concept was not born overnight. In fact, the Carver has been on the drawing board for eleven years. Eleven years of planning and merging the car and motorbike together in harmony, and the result is well worth it. The Carver is the ultimate road gadget specifically designed for one occupant, the driver, and handles like a fighter plane thanks to its motor bike design.
The technical side to the Carver is quite remarkable. The Carver is designed to hold the driver and controls in the cockpit, which is the moving motorbike segment. The cockpit is supported by hydraulic rams which are force sensitive and respond to the driver's actions. This means the driver can change from a sleepy drive to an exhilarating fighter jet experience with the cockpit tilted to its maximum angle at 45 degrees at a whim.

The rear of the Carver, which is the stationary two-wheeled segment, contains the engine and car components. The acceleration is unlike that of a motorbike, but overall its performance is quite impressive. With a 660cc turbocharged engine the Carver can attain a maximum speed of 115mph, which is ample for use on the roads. Another nice feature of this machine is the soft top option for sunny days.
