The Ecojet
The Ecojet
The EcoJet has odd parentage for a car. It is produced by General Motors, which isn't odd in and of itself... But it was designed by Tonight host Jay Leno (with the help of his chief mechanic.) This stunning behemoth is styled on American classics such as the Cadillac and the Pontiac Firebird. History has lent itself to the design of this supercar, but it retains its own unique style and presence..
The most significant and prominent aspect of this monster car is its power source. The Ecojet has a built-in turbine jet engine in the rear - a Honeywell LT-101 to be precise, which delivers a whopping 650hp to the specially crafted 22-inch aluminum wheels. The beauty of this machine is its fuel source. It's a bio-fueled jet engine, meaning it runs on pollutant free energy sources such as vegetable oil and even animal fat. So this supercar is, in case you haven't spotted the trend in future cars yet, completely emission free and environmentally sound.

Not only does the Ecojet have certain design features borrowed from the past, but some the cars components are also shared. The Ecojet's chassis is taken from the Corvette Z06, modified to harness the 650hp engine situated in the rear. Other common car parts such as the brakes, suspension turrets and frame rails were also removed from the Corvette Z06 for use in Leno's extravagant supercar.
The 50's styling is complimented by materials used to construct the car. The cars external features are made from brushed chrome to give it that authentic look. The cars body is made from a hard wearing composite of hydro-formed Kevlar and Carbon Fiber. This durable compound lends the cars body the strength it needs to contain its jet engine.
Leno's primary concern when designing this supercar was to make it as eco-friendly as possible. The engine is emission free. The interior is 'cruelty free'; containing no fabrics or materials obtained from animals, and the Ecojet's body is even coated in an environmentally friendly paint (BSAF).

Leno's pet project, the tree-hugging supercar will never in fact be replicated. It is the only one of its kind on the planet. The Ecojet may be entirely unique and exclusive to the popular television star, but one might be lucky enough to glimpse this amazing machine cruising the streets of L.A. More likely it will be seen at a standstill in L.A traffic, but who knows...
