TwitchGuru paid a visit to Wondercon 2007 last week in San Francisco and got a sneak peak at a few of the blockbuster movies lined up for this year. After viewing some exclusive footage of several hot films scheduled for release this year, we put together a list of top 10 movies for geeks, nerds, comic book fans, and movie nuts for 2007. Here it is:

10. Grindhouse (April 6, 2007)

Of all the movies on this list, and perhaps all the movies coming out this year, "Grindhouse" has perhaps the biggest chance of being a complete disaster. It also has a great chance to be brilliant, considering it's the love child of directors Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. Two unabashed fans of low budget, B-movie 'grind house' cinema in the 1970s, Tarantino and Roddriguez decided to make a double feature homage. Rodriguez's segment deals with zombies that invade a small town, and Tarantino's part focusing on a speed racing serial killer who targets women with his car. With a great cast that includes Kurt Russell, Rose McGowan, and Rosario Dawson, "Grindhouse" could be excessive, full tilt fun like the "Kill Bill" movies and "Sin City." Or it could be an overindulgent mess like "Jackie Brown" and "The Faculty."

9. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (March 23, 2007)

Yes, the turtles are back. And this time, Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo and Raphael are starring in an animated movie. And no, Corey Feldman isn't doing the voice of Donatello. The new TMNT film picks up several years after the four brothers defeated the Shredder and subsequently drifted apart (for example, Michaelangelo has taken a job performing at children's birthday parties). But a new villain brings the family back together. The new movie is written and directed by Kevin Munroe, who worked closely with Turtles co-creator Peter Laird. The voice actor cast includes Sarah Michelle Gellar, Patrick Stewart and Kevin Smith. But it's been a long time since we've seen the Turtles on the big screen. Will fans turn out for "TMNT" after 14 years since the last film (the 1993 live action "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III"? Well, if the footage from Wondercon is any indication, "TMNT" will be one action-packed PG movie with plenty of impressive animation.
