We all know it for quite a long time, the strongest force in the computer business today is the Internet, and that will remain for quite a few years to come. The world's largest IT-businesses, like IBM, Microsoft and even Intel are focusing on the Internet. What used to be a place for geeks only five years ago, has now become the best place to gather information about practically anything, and with the boom of e-commerce the Internet is now even on the way to become a huge mall where you can purchase virtually any kind of goods as well.

CeBIT2000 -
the Largest, The Greatest And ... The Dumbest

CeBIT , the annual Computer Show in Hannover, Germany has been the largest international IT-exhibition for many years, with a size of about four times of Comdex Fall in Las Vegas. Thousands (exactly 7,515) of exhibitors from all over the world are gathering on the huge grounds of the Hannover Messe, in about 30 different halls, and this year the organizers are expecting almost a million visitors. The motto of CeBIT2000 is 'there's no IT business without Internet business ', which cannot possibly surprise any of you readers. What does surprise however, is that the organizer of CeBIT, the 'Deutsche Messe AG', has made it virtually impossible for any online media to register for press badges. The highly acclaimed 'The Register ' reported on this issue already last Friday , because their journalists were suffering from the same problem that several editors of Tom's Hardware Guide, including myself, had been hit with before.
