Tom's Blurb: Athlon Motherboards : Athlon Motherboard Story And Intel
Athlon Motherboard Story And Intel
Our Athlon motherboard review is now online for some 36 hours and already a whole lot of things have happened. Effect number one was that Asus received tons of mail from people enquiring about their Athlon-board. The result is very satisfying, after some six hours of negative responses Asus started replying to everyone that they will start shipping their Athlon-board by the end of September.
Have a look at those emails:
I received this forwarded Asus-mail from Lance Rissman yesterday (August 18, 1999) around 1 PM EDT:
|
Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for supporting our products. There is still indefinite date for the release of such motherboard.. However, the K7 M/B has already been under prototyping and beta testing.. The price will vary due to the competition when releases. |
This mail was received by Jeb Boniakowski a little later:
|
Dear Sir Thank you for using Asus Products! The board will soon be released. But the release day is not yet determined. Best Regards ASUSTeK Technical Support Division. |
Finally, Asus sent this mail to Adam Nachtgeist:
|
It'll be released by the end of the month. Thanks Sales dept |
I guess that this is quite an achievement, generated by a flood of emails of people who would like to see an Athlon-motherboard from Asus.
