Athlon Motherboard Story And Intel

Ad

Our Athlon motherboard review is now online for some 36 hours and already a whole lot of things have happened. Effect number one was that Asus received tons of mail from people enquiring about their Athlon-board. The result is very satisfying, after some six hours of negative responses Asus started replying to everyone that they will start shipping their Athlon-board by the end of September.

Have a look at those emails:

I received this forwarded Asus-mail from Lance Rissman yesterday (August 18, 1999) around 1 PM EDT:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for supporting our products.

There is still indefinite date for the release of such motherboard..
However, the K7 M/B has already been under prototyping and beta testing..
The price will vary due to the competition when releases.

This mail was received by Jeb Boniakowski a little later:

Dear Sir

Thank you for using Asus Products!

The board will soon be released.
But the release day is not yet determined.

Best Regards

ASUSTeK Technical Support Division.

Finally, Asus sent this mail to Adam Nachtgeist:

It'll be released by the end of the month.

Thanks
Sales dept

I guess that this is quite an achievement, generated by a flood of emails of people who would like to see an Athlon-motherboard from Asus.
