Tivo for PCs?
I'm still trying to make sense of the computer industry's move toward getting folks to watch TV on their computers. My guess is that they think you'd rather watch One Life to Live instead of playing solitaire in your cubicle. Just to make you scratch your head and wonder, ATI today announced an agreement with Compaq to offer a multimedia option that will allows users to watch and capture television content with Presario PCs later this year. The agreement will allow users to have ATI's The All-in-Wonder Radeon built into their computers. The Radeon provides a 32 MB DDR memory and includes a digital visual interface, personal video recorder technology, and a stereo TV tuner. I don't know about you, but after spending all day in front of a monitor, the last thing I want to do is get sucked into the tube.
