TiVo wins $73 million in EchoStar patent suit
TiVo said on Thursday it won a patent lawsuit against satellite television operator EchoStar for infringing on its patents for digital video recorders, sending TiVo shares up 20%.
Tivo said it would seek a permanent injunction against EchoStar Communications Corp.’s DVR products after a Texas jury awarded TiVo a little more than $73 million for lost profits and reasonable royalties.
