Tight 6" capacity at Taiwan foundries easing
Taiwanese foundries have seen their 6" fab capacity utilization ease since mid-June, local IC design sources said. Earlier, US and European clients had moved up orders to mitigate the risk of any disruption in production due to SARS. Now, while the amount of orders has not decreased, delivery times have been relaxed to the third quarter and utilization rates on some lines may fall to 90% or below in early July, sources said.
