TI executive claims DLP has over 50% of projector market
John Van Scoter, senior vice president of Texas Instruments (TI), yesterday claimed that the worldwide market share for the company’s Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology has reached 52.4%.
Van Scoter, who is also manager of the company’s DLP business unit, cited the latest figures released by Pacific Media Association (PMA) as indicating that DLP technology accounted for 52.4% of the RPTV (rear projection TV) market in the fourth quarter of 2005, and in Taiwan and China the shares were 55% and 59%, respectively.
