ThumbPad Input Device for the Palm V
![]()
Here's an input device that looks pretty cool but at the same time looks like a repetitve stress injury just waiting to happen. That may be a little unfair, however, since you probably won't use it as much as that crippling mouse attached to your keyboard. Targus says its ThumbPad Keyboard for the PalmV is designed for typing short messages and notes as well as personal information management. It weighs in at 1.4 ounces and clips directly to the bottom of the PalmV's serial port so that you don't need an external stand or flat surface. In addition to the Palm V, the ThumbPad is expected to ship this fall for the Sony CLIE, Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC, HandSpring Visor and other Palm handheld models. Other ThumbPad features include built-in hot key functions and low power consumption. Because the PalmV powers the ThumbPad, there is no need for external batteries. The Targus ThumbPad Keyboard for the PalmV is available now for $39.95.
