Thomson Multimedia to buy file-sharing service
Despite Napster's legal troubles and AOL's decision to remove its file-sharing search engine last week, there are still major players betting that the technology, in some form, will prevail. Electronics giant Thomson Multimedia is buying the Seattle-based file-sharing service Singingfish.com. A Thomson VP characterized the technology as "critical" to the success of his and other entertainment companies.
