Thief 4 is Coming From Eidos Montreal
Rejoice PC gamers, one of our (well, certainly mine) favorite franchises is making a return!

When Eidos decided to open a games studio in Montreal, Canada many speculated what the new team could possibly be working on. We were hoping that we’d see a revival of the Thief franchise, and today we’re going to get what we want. Eidos Montreal is working on Thief 4.
"We're in the early development stages for Thief 4, but this is an incredibly ambitious and exciting project for Eidos," Stéphane D'Astous, General Manager at Eidos-Montréal, told Kotaku. "While it's too early for us to offer any specific game details, right now we are focused on recruiting the very best talent to join the core team at the studio and help us make what we believe will be one of the most exciting games on the market."
This marks the third studio to hand the Thief property since its inception. The now-defunct Looking Glass Studios developed the first two entries with Ion Storm Austin picking up the third.
Eidos Montreal is responsible for developing Deus Ex 3, which was also a former Ion Storm Austin project.

@Marcus Yam - Poor you. It will be made for the 360 & ps3 and the poor PC will have console like controls and be limited to the lowest settings they can get out of either of those consoles. You'll also have to put up with combo button mashing type fights. I'm sure there will be Hulk Hogan zombie for the 360 version too.
The 4ton of DRM will keep me away from the game and I'm sure the is too close to the truth so I'm off to cry. when will they learn you can't port up to the PC. It has to be a port down to the console and change the menus to work on a T.V. and no mouse.
Ooooh I've just come over all tingly!
Yay!!! Just as I was about to haul out Thief 3!!
Unfortunately Theif 1 wont run on Vista, only on xp and thats with one of the cores turned off! How sad is that to still want to play this game after so many years.
I have all the versions up to date and still play to this day, it never ceases to please for some unknown reason.
So glad that another release is in the pipeline and I do hope that it's as good as the others. Metal age was my favourite with the steam powered robots with chimneys and coal boilers on their backs the most impressive opponents.
Bring em back I say!
