Rhett Dillingham and Sean Bradley show off an Athlon 64 system running on an AMD board with Nvidia graphics.

AMD has been pushing its 32/64 bit platform for some time, but, according to Rhett Dillingham, they also have other fish to fry. "64 bit is obviously one of the main trends we're moving toward for to increase performance," he says. "But at the same time we're also a believer in cooler and quieter performance. That's one of he reasons we're demonstrating the our Cool'n'Quiet Technology here." Dillingham sees the adoption of Athlon 64 picking up in 2004. In addition, AMD was touting its partnership with electronics manufacturing services vendor Celestica, demonstrating boards built with components from both companies.

Rhett Dillingham, Sean Bradley and Joanne Garza of AMD pose with Omid and their Tom's Hardware Guide Readers' Choice Award for Best Innovation in CPUs for, what else but the Athlon 64 FX.
