THG's Extreme Makeover

A Note From The Publisher
I guess you've noticed the new layout for THG's Home Page. Of course you have. But, we haven't changed things around just to mess with your head. Nope. We have deep, scientific, and meaningful reasons for throwing caution and HTML code to the wind. That and the fact that our last reader survey yielded a lot of useful data about what kind of content you wanted to see coming out of THG.
Over the course of the last three years we have consistently increased our coverage of the hardware market, and the time had come to redesign the Home Page so that visitors to the site would have the opportunity to have access to ALL the latest and freshest articles from our editors. Our old format was creaking under the strain of multiple postings every day. We just couldn't put all our daily postings on the Home Page.
The new layout allows us to keep the latest postings of feature articles at the top of the page, but also allows us to keep the latest news headlines in full view. We have been gradually increasing coverage in all our main areas, and our News section has been thriving. However, it was not always possible to place all of the leading headlines in view on the Home Page. In the new format, we have found a solution that seems to work.
Drop down menus also give you easy access to a backlog of recent content, and if you scroll down the page, you can find the latest content by Guide for easy browsing. In the new format, we can give you general hardware news, but can also add news specific to a Guide, whether it be Networking , Graphics & Displays , or something else.
In fact, over the course next few months we will be making each Guide a standalone resource so, if you just want to get at all our CPU stuff, you'll go to the CPU Guide and find the latest news, articles, Quick Bytes, charts, and data, all in one place. Just like you can do today in Networking and Graphics and Display.
It's all about increasing the amount of information, and support we provide for you, and giving you easy access to that information. We hope that you agree with us that the new format is a better way of navigating THG's content from the Home Page.
Of course, we know some of you won't, and you can go directly to the Feedback Form to give us your opinion. We are constantly looking for ways to deliver a better service to our readership. You have been among the most well-informed, enthusiastic, and expressive audiences on the Web. That's not just our opinion, but research has proven that to be true. So, we expect nothing less from you.
In the meantime, work that Home Page, and roam the THG pages. And keep watching for increased coverage of the topics that matter to you most.
