USB 3.0 HDD/SSD Docking Stations Launch
Bring USB 3.0 to any of your HDDs or SSDs.
Thermaltake jumps in on the USB 3.0 bandwagon with its own line of USB 3.0 docking stations. Suitable for tossing in your favorite SATA 3gb/s HDD or SSD, the docking station makes it easy to attach and remove traditional hard drives without an enclosure.
As of right now, the current model from Thermaltake only has a slot for one drive, but the company indicated that it would follow-up with a dual-drive station.
The stations support full hot swapping without the need to turn off the unit. Demonstrating a 528MB/s file transfer to a Patriot Memory 128GB Torqx SSD, the station was able to complete the write in less than 6 seconds.
Availability date is going to be sometime in the second half of February.
