Intel's Specs Say The Chassis Temperature Max. Is 38°

We found it interesting to read the package insert. According to this little piece of paper, the chassis temperature is not intended to exceed 38°C.

The message is clear. Your computer case's temperature on the inside should remain at below 38°C.

The dependence of the thermal loss and TCase (CPU temperature) results in the TDP number (Thermal Design Power).

The PRB1 specification (Performance Requirement Bit enabled), valid for the P4 550 and the P4 560 in Socket 775, allows for a Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 115 W max.


Intel has two categories that differ in proportion to thermal loss.
