The laser used by Logitech is obviously a low-power Class 1 model. It consumes less than 700 µW, which is quite minimal. To avoid any possible exposure by looking at the underside of the mouse, the laser shuts off as soon as the mouse is no longer sitting on a surface.
A specific sensor had to be adapted to accommodate the new projection system. Logitech implemented the MX1000 sensor, which uses a 30x30 pixel CMOS matrix identical to that of the previous MX sensors. The capture frequency is 6,400 images per second, as with the MX 510 model - the fastest so far. In theory, Logitech has associated the best sensor available with an optical technology that is as precise as is possible.
