The Hitman Returns to His Killing Business

Gamers first learned that Agent 47's services were for hire in November of 2000. The game received a chilly reception from most reviewers, but quickly developed a very loyal fan base. Complaints of camera and control issues, as well as no in-mission saves, couldn't overcome the game's great sound and graphics. The game also had advertised its ability to allow the player to solve its very difficult missions through multiple solutions. Many critics didn't find this to be the case.

The tone has changed as you revisit the past. (Original Vs. Contracts)
However, almost a year later, Agent 47 returned to kill again in Hitman 2. This time the developers seemed to have learned from their mistakes. Unlike most returning assassins, this time he was well received. The graphics and sound were still great and control was improved. The developers, IO Interactive, even took out contracts on all the major consoles that greatly increased awareness of the hired gun among gaming communities.
With that success holstered securely in his black dress coat, once again the unrepentant angel of death has confidently strode in with his cold eyes set squarely on its next intended target - your free time.
