The ATI Revolution: A Very Different LAN Party Experience : Introduction
It's a gorgeous day in sunny Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The lawn in front of the sports centre of the college CEGEP Édouard-Montpetit is sprinkled with monitors, custom cases, and their eager owners. In just a few hours, the doors of the ATI Revolution, the fifth biggest LAN Party in North America, will open. Already, a few early birds are trickling into the parking lot, hoping to be the first gamers allowed in the venue.

The parking lot outside the ATI Revolution venue was available to all participants.

An enthusiastic supporter decided to paint his van, ensuring that nobody missed the entrance to the ATI Revolution!
By nightfall, there was a line that wound all the way out into the parking lot, where music blasting from custom car stereos could be heard from hundreds of yards away. I had a chance to speak to some of the gamers while they were in line for pre-registration. All of them had one thing in common: incredibly high expectations. This event is known across eastern Canada and the north-eastern US for its professionalism and dedication to a complete, intense gaming experience - with a twist of craziness "à la Québecoise".
