Tesco's tablet is now on sale.
After several weeks of rumors, Tesco last week finally unveiled its very first entry into the tablet market. Tesco's Hudl tablet hit the shelves in its retail stores priced at £119.
The Hudl is a 7-inch tablet based on Google's Android operating system. It has a 1440 x 900 resolution, runs on a quad-core 1.5 GHz CPU and features 16 GB of storage, a microSD slot, WiFi, speakers, a 3-megapixel camera, and a battery that lasts nine hours (at least, according to Tesco it does). The device is Archos-made and priced extremely competitively, undercutting 7-inch offerings from both Amazon and Google.
The Hudl is available in black, pink, purple and blue and has a rubberized back for easy grip. The whole thing runs on Android 4.2.2 and comes with multiple Tesco apps pre-installed, including apps for Blinkbox, the video on demand service Tesco owns, grocery shopping (from Tesco, obviously), and the supermarket's loyalty program.
