ICD's Nvidia Tegra 2 Tablet Beats iPad Hands Down
Flash, ahoy!
With all this iPad talk, you'd think Apple was the first company to ever launch a tablet. However, despite all the hype, the iPad is causing problems for some people, and it's also lacking a little in the features department. No webcam, the same (or very similar) processor and graphics as the iPhone 3GS (albeit clocked to 1GHz).
Engadget is carrying details of a tablet from ICD called the Gemini. With a 3G connection that allows for voice calls, it already has one aspect of the iPad beat but what else has it got under the hood? A removable 40Wh battery, an SD card reader, FM radio, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, MicroUSB connectivity, GPS, stereo speakers, two webcams (2mp on the front and 5mp with autofocus on the back). Running Android, there's a choice of either a capacitive or resistive 1,366 x 768 multitouch display. The most interesting of all is that the device boasts Nvidia's Tegra 2 processor.

No Shit?
I work in a computer store. Some guy just came in all smiling "How about that Ipad!?" I smile back, and proceed to tell him that he can't multitask or use flash. His smile wiped clean off. Then I showed him this and he's all smiles again like "How about that, a radio on a computer!" When he finally left, I was the one smiling. People just LOVE gadgets, even when they don't know what they are for.
But unfortunately, the tegra doesn't have any cool apps .
Im getting less respect for apple fanboys, they are turning into a pre-teen child who has been brainwashed with the latest toy advert. Some one in my work has not stopped talking about the iPad for a week, until I asked him what would he use it for. He had no answer.
But still wanted one.

Um...Tegra is the system-on-a-chip that runs the pad. Android is the OS, and Android has plenty of apps.
I've never seen this in stores here in S.E. Asia. Only available in N. America/UK, perhaps?

It's not out yet - it was only unveiled at CES this year.
I'd probably prefer something with a full destop OS, but I do like android...
Windows 7 on Tegra would be nice - couldn't do a worse job than an Atom, but it's a shame Tegra isn't x86 as I don't see Microsoft putting resources into developing a ARM codebase for Windows without a massive financial incentive, i.e. Tegra-powered netbooks needing an OS.
Dear ASUS
Please port ROG Connect to Android because the only tablet that's really got my attention and not yet disappointed me doesn't run Windows.
Thank you.
perhaps a slightly beefier linux distro would fill the gap?
Ubuntu Touchy Terrapin?
