Boston (MA) - We're not privy to the PowerPoint demonstrations that Microsoft product managers use in proposing new features for development by the team, but judging from last week's demos, one of their key bullet points must have been, "Tighter SharePoint Integration." In this final installment of our slide shows from senior product manager Mark Alexieff's demonstration to TechEd 2006 last Friday, you'll see how one user can publish a slide to SharePoint, someone else can make a change to that slide, and the one or more presentations that use the slide can be altered in turn.

Also demonstrated last Friday are some of the requested functionality changes to Outlook 2007. Like OneNote, Outlook didn't get the "ribbon" treatment that Word, Excel, and PowerPoint received, so it still uses the "old" menu bar. But the workspace does get cleaned up a bit anyway, with the navigation pane now capable of being shoved over to a thin column along the far left side, like a "bar" in Backgammon. And still pictures simply don't do justice to one of the new features of Office online help for users already familiar with Office XP: A user can find a menu or toolbar command on a replica of an Office XP component, and watch as its location "morphs" to its new position in Office 2007.
