Tech firms struggle to keep workers
A new study shows that the economic slowdown and layoffs in the high-tech sector have not significantly lowered demand for IT workers. The consulting firm Accenture polled 483 senior executives and concluded that the retention of workers is still a major challenge to productivity.
In related news, countries seeking to keep their own skilled technology workers have been assisted by a drop in applications for H-1B visas by US companies, presumably caused by the economic slump.
