Team Ironmods Wins 'Power of 3' OC Award
The the name Team Ironmods sounds familiar to you, it’s because the it was the winner of our Tom’s Hardware Overdrive Overclocking Championship 2008.
Now Team Ironmods is continuing its success since winning our international competition (and helping us stay out of trouble from the fire department). The three-man team, composed of Jeremiah Allen, Jake Crimmins and Ton Khowdee, entered into an inter-forum overclocking competition known as Forum Warz.
Team Ironmods chose to represent the OC Forums in the UX Class -- the “unlimited extreme” heavy weight class -- and used whatever computer parts, cooling methods, tweaks, and mods to achieve top results.
Proving that Team Ironmod’s performance at our own Overdrive event wasn’t a fluke, the trio was crowned with the title "Power of 3" award for obtaining the highest score out of 40 other competing three-man teams. Our congratulations to them!
Right now we at Tom’s Hardware are currently partnering with AMD for our Virtual Overclocking Competition. We’re half way through with our Phenom II X4 940 winner already found, and the next contest starts today!

We’ve invited Team Ironmods to be present at our champions’ ceremony in LA at the end of our AMD competition, hopefully for a little bit more overclocking of their own as our two winners attempt to recreate and improve on their results. Stay tuned for more updates on our ongoing contest.
