Take Two confirms name and release date of next Grand Theft Auto
Game publisher Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. confirmed today that the next title in the international blockbuster "Grand Theft Auto" series will be in stores on Oct. 19 in North America and Oct. 22 in Europe. The last two games in the franchise, "Grand Theft Auto : Vice City" and "Grand Theft Auto 3," sold a combined 22 million units worldwide. The release of "San Andreas" is expected to be a financial boon to Take-Two, whose fiscal year ends in October. As with the initial releases of "GTA 3" and "Vice City," the new "San Andreas" will be exclusive to Sony’s PlayStation 2. No release date for versions on other consoles has been announced.
