Taiwan TFT LCD producers lower August panel prices
Taiwan TFT LCD producers, including Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT), Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO), AU Optronics (AUO) and HannStar Display, finally yielded to market forces and decided at the last minute to lower August TFT LCD prices. They reportedly quoted US$235-240, a reduction of US$10, for 15" LCD monitor panels and about US$340, a reduction of more than US$20, for 17" LCD monitor panels, according Taiwan LCD monitor producers.
