Taiwan second-tier digital still camera (DSC) makers, in light of decreasing sales of three-megapixel CMOS-based models, have recently turned to producing CCD DSCs. Although CCD-based DSCs are more expensive than CMOS-based DSCs, the Taiwan makers intend to produce cost-effective models.
