Taiwan memory makers quit Rambus DRAM
Three Taiwanese memory makers say they will halt production of Rambus DRAM memory, according to Taiwan's Commercial Times. As reported by The Register, Winbond Electronics, Promos Technologies and Powerchip Semiconductor are all concerned over dwindling demand for Rambus DRAM combined with the increased demand for double-data-rate (DDR) SDRAM.
