Affected by weakening demand, Taiwan large-size TFT LCD shipments declined sharply in July, according to informal estimates of local market insiders. Companies including Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT) and HannStar Display expect their shipments to remain at about the same level in August but are optimistic about shipments from September on.
