Taiwan DRAM back-end companies maintain tight capacity in first quarter of 2005
Recovering from the downturn of 2001 and 2002, DRAM testing prices have trended up, in line with DRAM prices, and seen generally strong performance in 2004. During the downturn, DRAM makers made aggressive cuts in the cost of testing, to minimize their losses, and this caused DRAM back-end companies to suffer large losses as DRAM testing prices dropped below cost.
