Taiwan Celebrates 'The Year of the Notebook'
When Apple founder Steve Jobs proclaimed that 2003 was "The Year of the Notebook," he was referring to Apple’s product mix : Sales of notebooks as replacements for desktop PCs now make up some 50 percent of total sales. More wireless convenience and proliferation of hot spots to airports and cafes are among the factors driving the surge in notebook sales.
