Taiwan to ship 18.79 million PDAs in 2006, says MIC
Shipments of PDAs from Taiwan makers will total 18.79 million units in 2006, up 39.1% from the 13.51 million units recorded in 2005, according to a forecast by the Market Intelligence Center (MIC) of the government-sponsored Institute for Information Industry (MII). PDA phones will lead the sector’s projected growth, with their shipments to grow 128.4% on-year to 12.22 million in 2006, whereas shipments of pen-based PDA are expected to decline 46% on-year to 2.37 million in 2006, MIC said.
