Taipei citywide WLAN WiFly coverage to soon reach 90%
Taipei City’s WiFly, the first citywide WLAN in operation around the world, is expected to cover 90% of the city’s residential population, over 133-134 square kilometers in land area, by the end of this year, according to mayor Ying-jeou Ma. Compared with other large cities, Taipei’s high population density is a disadvantage in terms of physical environment or so-called Real Space, but it turns out to be an advantage in establishing a networking environment or so-called Cyber Space, Ma pointed out.
