System makers support component description standards
The RosettaNet organization, a trade group that counts nearly all the world's major system manufacturers as members, is reaching agreement on a standard method for exchanging technical information about electronic components. The adoption of a method of transmitting, over the Internet, technical and CAD-ready data will, the industry believes, increase efficiency in dealings between makers, designers, and sellers of components.
