Syntax: Brillian merger will not affect relation with Kolin
Although US-based Syntax Groups is currently partnered with Taiwan’s Kolin for marketing LCD and LCOS (liquid-crystal-on-silicon) TVs in North America, Syntax was recently merged with Brillian, a US-based LCOS light engine provider, and a new company was formed, called Syntax-Brillian, to develop and sell TVs. DigiTimes interviewed current Syntax CEO James Li, who will become president and chief operating officer (COO) of Syntax-Brillian to talk about the company’s future relationship with Kolin, its plan for the China market, updates about its factories and the Europe LCD TV market.
