Symantec to buy Veritas for $13.5 billion
Symantec on Thursday said it will buy Veritas Software for $13.5 billion, expanding into the data storage and recovery business.
Symantec is betting the deal will broaden its product line, allowing companies to cuts costs and simplify the management of their technology by using fewer suppliers, John Thompson, chairman and chief executive of Symantec said.
