SVI Shows Off Video Signal Processing Technology
Fabless semiconductor developer Silicon Video demonstrated its new svZX1 image format conversion IC at NAB 2001 last week. The svZX1 is a high-speed pixel processing engine targeted specifically at high-resolution projection systems and HDTV production equipment. The new engine can handle all combinations of progressive and interlaced input to output and can convert between ATSC formats and popular computer resolutions up to 1600 x 1200. The svZX1 is capable of shrinking a UXGA or 1920x1080i DTV maximum input resolution to SXGA resolution or less. The svZX1 is now shipping in a 292-pin BGA package for $50 in 1K quantities. A small profile 256-pin micro-BGA package version, the svZX1-LP, is available for $120 in 1K quantities. SVI also provides extended temperature versions for industrial applications.
