by - source: Tom's Hardware

Chicago (IL) - Mainboard company Supermicro today announced two single processor products supporting Intel’s Pentium 4 processors with 64-bit extensions.

The new models P8SC8/i and P8SCT are aimed at entry-level servers and are based on Intel’s E7221 "Copper River" chipset. According to the company, the processors are designed to carry Intel’s Pentium 4 processors 3.20F, 3.40F and 3.60F in the LGA775 package and supporting the recently announced EM64T technology.

The P8SCT offers four Serial-ATA ports and five legacy 32-bit PCI slots for customers who need to continue using their existing add-on cards. The P8SCi is a tower solution with both PCI-Express (2) and PCI (2) slot support. The P8SC8 adds dual-channel Ultra320 SCSI.

All three boards can include up to four GByte unbuffered DDRII 533/400 SDRAM, come with Broadcom BCM5721 Gigabit Ethernet controllers and Intel ICH6R SATA controller supports 4 SATA drives with RAID 0, 1.

Supermicro has not yet announced pricing of the boards.
