Sunext and Philips sign licensing agreement for ODD IC technologies
Sunext Technology, a subsidiary of Sunplus Technology, announced on March 13 that it has signed a licensing agreement with Royal Philips Electronics under which Sunext will be able to access Philips’ patented technologies related to optical disc drive (ODD) semiconductors and manufacturing services.
The technology license granted to Sunext is exclusively in the design, implementation, manufacture and sale of IC’s and solutions for PC ODD and home entertainment DVD recorders, Sunext said in a press release.
